Designed as a retirement home overlooking the scenic Lake of the Woods region of Ontario, the Lewis Residence was created to provide a peaceful retreat that embraces its natural setting while offering comfortable, year-round living. The home's architecture draws inspiration from the Prairie School tradition, emphasizing broad horizontal rooflines, sheltered outdoor spaces, and a strong connection between the building and its surrounding landscape.
Organized around a dramatic central living space and fireplace, the 2,500-square-foot residence features open gathering areas, generous natural light, and carefully framed views of the lake. Deep roof overhangs provide protection from the elements while reinforcing the home's distinctive architectural character. The compact yet highly efficient floor plan was thoughtfully designed to accommodate retirement living, balancing ease of maintenance with inviting spaces for family and entertaining.
