Ladysmith, British Columbia
Waterfront Resort & Residential Development
30 Luxury Condominium Residences • Completed 1984
Nestled along the protected coastline of Vancouver Island, Inn of the Sea Resort was designed as a boutique waterfront destination that blends contemporary residential living with the natural beauty of British Columbia's coastline. The project combines resort amenities with thoughtfully planned condominium residences, creating a year-round retreat that celebrates its oceanfront setting.
The $3.5 million development features 30 luxury condominium-style residences organized to maximize views, privacy, and access to the waterfront. Innovative multi-level floor plans, expansive glazing, private outdoor living spaces, and generous landscaping create homes that seamlessly connect indoor living with the surrounding forest and shoreline.
The master plan integrates pedestrian pathways, marina access, recreational amenities, and shared open spaces to foster a relaxed coastal lifestyle while preserving the site's natural character. In addition to the residential development, Lex George also designed a renovation concept for the resort's dining and lounge facilities, further enhancing the guest experience, although that portion of the project was ultimately not constructed.
Completed in 1984, Inn of the Sea Resort reflects Lex George's enduring passion for designing architecture that responds to its environment—creating places where thoughtful planning, natural beauty, and timeless design come together.
