Designed as an intimate four-room retreat, this boutique bed and breakfast was envisioned to capture the relaxed lifestyle and natural beauty of Maui. The concept combines traditional Hawaiian architectural influences with modern comforts, creating a welcoming destination for travelers seeking a more personal and authentic island experience.
The design features four private guest suites organized around spacious indoor and outdoor gathering areas, including shared dining and lounge spaces that encourage interaction while maintaining privacy for guests. Expansive covered lanais, generous roof overhangs, natural ventilation, and a central observation tower embrace Hawaii's tropical climate and strengthen the connection between the architecture and its surroundings.
Created for a private developer, the proposal reflects Lex George's approach to hospitality design—crafting memorable places that balance comfort, functionality, and a strong sense of place. Although the project remained a conceptual study, it demonstrates an understanding of boutique lodging, guest experience, and architecture inspired by local culture and environment.
