GAP Retail Store

GAP Retail Store

Victoria, British Columbia

Retail Architecture
13,000 SF • Completed 1997

Designed for the internationally recognized GAP clothing brand, this 13,000-square-foot flagship retail store introduced a contemporary architectural presence to downtown Victoria while complementing the surrounding historic streetscape. The project blends modern retail design with a carefully proportioned façade that respects the scale and character of neighboring buildings.

The two-story structure was designed to maximize merchandising opportunities through expansive storefront glazing, flexible interior floor plans, and a clean architectural expression that reinforces the GAP brand while creating an inviting shopping experience for pedestrians.

Completed in 1997, the project was recognized as Co-Winner of the Victoria Real Estate Board's Building of the Year Award, honoring its contribution to the city's built environment and excellence in commercial design.

The GAP Retail Store reflects Lex George's ability to create architecture that supports both brand identity and urban revitalization, delivering a timeless commercial building that continues to enhance one of Victoria's premier shopping districts.
