Designed while working with Wade Williams Architects, this proposal explored a compact, efficient 12-unit affordable housing development that balanced construction economy with quality living environments. The four-story building was organized around a central circulation core, creating efficient unit layouts while maintaining natural light, privacy, and accessibility.
The project focused on maximizing value through straightforward construction techniques and efficient planning without sacrificing architectural character. Careful attention was given to site grading, building massing, and the relationship between the structure and surrounding neighborhood, demonstrating that affordable housing can contribute positively to the urban fabric.
The proposal reflects Lex George's early experience working on multifamily residential projects where thoughtful planning, budget constraints, and functional design were equally important considerations.
