Gloucester, Massachusetts
Designed for a private developer, this mixed-use proposal combines twenty-eight residential condominiums with street-level retail to strengthen the urban fabric of downtown Gloucester. The design emphasizes traditional New England materials and proportions while introducing modern residential amenities and efficient mixed-use planning.
Developed while working with Winter Street Architects, the project carefully integrates residential living above active commercial storefronts, creating a pedestrian-friendly streetscape that complements the surrounding historic architecture. Brick facades, articulated bay windows, and varied building rhythms were used to reinforce the character of the neighborhood while providing contemporary condominium residences.
The project included complete architectural planning, parking layout, residential unit design, retail space planning, and exterior elevations that balanced modern construction with Gloucester's historic downtown context.
