This adaptive reuse project transformed a historic post-and-beam textile mill into a vibrant 125-unit residential condominium community while preserving the architectural character of one of Rhode Island's historic industrial landmarks.
Working as a project team member with Cannon Boston Architects, Lex contributed to the planning and redevelopment of the mill, creating a variety of residential floor plans that celebrated the building's original structure. Exposed timber framing, soaring ceilings, large industrial windows, and open living spaces allowed the historic character of the mill to remain a defining feature of the completed residences.
The redevelopment also incorporated existing ancillary buildings and carefully planned site improvements, creating a cohesive residential community while giving new life to an important piece of New England's industrial heritage.
