Designed as a design-build project for the Government of British Columbia, this 42-unit affordable housing community was created to provide comfortable, durable, and welcoming homes for families while fostering a strong sense of neighborhood.
Rather than treating affordable housing as purely functional, the design emphasizes community through shared green spaces, pedestrian-friendly walkways, children's play areas, and generous landscaping. The buildings are arranged around a central courtyard that encourages outdoor activity, visibility, and interaction among residents while maintaining privacy for individual homes.
The project balances cost-effective construction with thoughtful planning, creating attractive residences that are both practical and enduring. The completed development demonstrates how affordable housing can provide quality living environments without sacrificing architectural character or community-focused design.
